The final cap raise was a full year after launch before the era of smaller Headhunter DLCs began. They have to do something to keep things fresh if they’re not doing new Vault Hunters, and I’m not sure what other option they have. So uh, fifth skill tree, maybe? Things are getting kind of crazy at that point, but we’ll see. The second Vault Hunter addition was a month later in May as a standalone release. I really, really hope we don’t get a third difficulty as I don’t think Gearbox really even understands what to do with True Vault Hunter mode right now, so what would be the point of Ultimate Vault Hunter? They’ve said they’re re-doing the Mayhem system, which BL2 did not have, next year, which I think is a better replacement than forcing people to do yet another campaign playthrough for no real reason. So I would not really expect a power increase here in this first DLC.
The first time we actually a power increase, raising the level cap, is not until almost seven months after the original release of the game, after three full DLC packs and it’s not tied to a DLC pack itself.
And that DLC arrived much sooner than this first B元 DLC is after release (were people complaining about Gaige being “cut content” back then? Probably). So without that happening, that makes me wonder if we could see something like a fourth skill tree for our current classes instead as a way to play around with new builds if we’re not getting a full-on new character. At least originally, we got a new Vault Hunter alongside the release of the very first DLC for the game.
